Reflection on the Completed Work

Well, how should I put it. Every time I finish a book, I feel a bit empty inside, a little melancholy, and somewhat lost. This time, it's particularly noticeable... because I've been having two consecutive days of insomnia...
And since I finished the last chapter last night, I haven't been able to sleep at all, feeling confused and empty...
How to put it, this book still has the same problem as the earlier ones, collapsing in the middle and later stages, greatly affecting my passion and confidence for writing. The more I write, the less I feel, and in the end, I can only rely on my sense of responsibility to finish the main plot of the book, so that readers won't be left with an incomplete story.
However, this also means that some subplots and details may have been missed or not included due to focusing on the main storyline. I apologize for any omissions and invite anyone to leave a comment here if they feel there is something missing that should be included. I will respond and potentially even include a small side story to fill in any gaps.
After finishing discussing business, let's talk about the performance of this book and some of my feelings.
Overall, for me, this book can be considered a failed work.
Although the results are the best among all my books, with a high pre-order volume of 70,000 and a highest average daily sales of 19,500, with over 16,000 average daily sales at the time of completion, it did not reach the goals I had set when I was writing this book.
Initially, the reason why I wrote this book was because I wanted to transition, to write some things that I hadn't written before, and to broaden my writing scope, and...to solve the problem of my mid-term breakdowns.
However, both of these goals were not ultimately achieved. I discovered that the field may not be suitable for me in the former, and in the latter... as you all saw: it freaking crashed t.t
This has left me feeling extremely lost.
Therefore, my original plan was to take a long break after completing the book, maybe half a year to a year, and then carefully consider my future direction.
However, due to various reasons, I may not be able to take that long of a break. So, I can only chat with everyone here about my thoughts and see if you can also help me find the reasons.
I've been reading a few books I've written recently, and I feel that the reason why my books are not successful might be because I've been heading in the wrong direction with my writing.
I remember telling everyone before that I love reading novels, but what I didn't mention was that I read a lot of niche books. I only read some popular ones for pleasure, such as "I'm Really a Superstar" and "Tribulation of Myriad Tribes". Thus, I have always thought that online novels should be popular fiction and cyclically pleasing.
This leads to my writing style for several books, which is: laying out the story background, "cheat codes," story and characters in the early stage, and then entering the loop in the middle stage, repeating the excitement constantly.
But I recently realized that I may have been wrong...
The satisfying points of each online novel are different, and the writing styles of each author are also different. Although some people can write repetitive satisfying points very well, it does not mean that everyone writes well, nor does it mean that all books have to be written this way...
And what I'm best at isn't the typical catchy looping beats, but rather the unique and yet realistic sci-fi ideas, the humorous and unexpected plot twists, the intriguing personalities.
So, if I start showing off and getting into arguments, does that mean I'll start losing my footing in writing?
I don't know if that's the reason or not. So, if there are any readers who have their own thoughts or think that my stumbling is due to something else, feel free to leave a comment and we can chat about it. I'll seriously take a look and reflect on it.
If my idea is correct, then my next book will likely return to the style of the early books: humorous, with twists and a bit of suspense, and focused on character development and storytelling, rather than pursuing mindless repetitive excitement. And this style will be sustained throughout the entire book.
But I still need to research more specifically.
And in order to write the next book well and more completely, although I cannot take a long break, I will still take some time to rest, read other great writers' books, learn and prepare for the new book.
Therefore, the estimated earliest time for the release of the new book is mid-July, and the latest is mid-September. We will strive to write a well-received, successful book!
At that time, we will notify everyone in the reader group and our book through separate chapters.
Therefore, if convenient, we hope that everyone can keep our books on their shelves. Thank you!
Alternatively, you can join the Book Friends Group 4 on QQ: 863768896, where we can chat casually, talk about anything, and have some fun.
Lastly, it's advertisement time. To all our book-loving readers, I hereby recommend my two old books: "I Add a Point to Everything" and "My Cloud Girlfriend".
Especially "I Add Points to Everything". This book is similar in style and genre to our books, and it has already been subscribed by 9,000 people, with only 1,000 left to reach the goal of 10,000. I hope it can be subscribed soon. ︿( ̄︶ ̄)︿
As for "My Cloud Girlfriend", it is my most out-of-the-box book, but it is a romance novel, so I'll just give a brief recommendation. If you're interested, you can also go and take a look.
At the very end.
Still, it's the passage I write at the end of every book.
All beginnings are grand, and all goodbyes are quiet.
No parting is perfect, but all goodbyes are for better reunions in the future.
It is a great honor to use "I Once Wanted to Be a Good Person" to accompany everyone through this beautiful time.
Whether you have subscribed to our book or only read a little bit and stopped.
Whether you like our book or end up disliking it.
Whether you plan to continue supporting me or to fade away from my life.
I will always remember you who accompanied me from 2022 to 2023.
Wish you smooth sailing ahead and come back as young as ever.
Let's work on the next book. See you later...
