Extra Chapter 2: Concert

One day, my mother told me that her colleague had bought some concert tickets and asked if my sister and I wanted to go.
I asked, "Whose concert is it?" My mom said it's Sun Yanzi's. I looked confused and asked, "Who is she?" The only source of knowledge from the outside world, my sister, said she is a female singer.
My mom asked us if we wanted to go see a concert.
I was a bit curious because some of the girls sitting around me in class were talking about wanting to go see their idols' concerts. Besides, I didn't know what a concert was like. So, I agreed to go.
That day it was already very late. Since my mom only had one ticket, we bought two scalped tickets. When we arrived at the entrance of the venue, we saw many people selling scalped tickets, glow sticks, and fan signs. Looking at this lively scene, I thought to myself, is this the grandeur of a celebrity?
My mom is the type of person who will never buy something if it's not practical, and I also don't want to spend money on such things, so we didn't buy much.
However, what I didn't expect was that at the ticket check, the girl gave us each a small glow stick that can be worn on the finger. Not sure if that's what it's called.
It's about to start soon, and our seats are relatively near, they are white plastic chairs. I look around, we are the innermost circle, and there is a large group of people far away from us.
Remember there was a boy sitting next to me, it seemed like he came alone. After a while, the protagonist appeared, even though my seat was relatively close, I still couldn't see the person clearly, so I could only focus my gaze on the projector screen. It was a girl dressed somewhat hip-hop style. Her voice was also very sweet.
At first, I was startled by the loud sound of the speakers, not to mention the constantly changing colored lights moving back and forth on the stage and in the crowd.
Perhaps reaching the climax, everyone around me stood up, waving their glow sticks and singing along. My mom noticed my confusion and told me to stand up and sing along.
It seems that after I stood up, I was very inconspicuous. The guy next to me said, "You can stand on the chair." I glanced at the height of the people around me and silently stepped on the white chair to stand up, barely able to see a blurry figure on the stage. I looked at the people around me with some confusion as to why they would go crazy over one person.
However, I didn't say much and just followed my sister's lead.
The climax quickly ended, and the concert was coming to a close. But the people around seemed unwilling for it to end so soon, still shouting and making noise. But it didn't take long for them to compromise, and we started walking along with the rest of the crowd.
The night is already late. The dim streetlights illuminate the road beside me, and the people who were buying tickets in front of the door have already left, while the vendors selling glow sticks have started to pack up. I turned around and looked at the huge concert venue behind me, where a group of people seemed to still be clamoring and singing along with their favorite idol.
But now it's quiet as usual. I looked at the glow stick in my hand, it had run out of battery. It's disposable. I didn't say anything and casually threw it into the trash bin. I pulled my drowsy sister along with me, following my mom.
It has been a long time since the last concert, and my mom came to me again and asked, "Do you know Dynamite Train?" Once again, I was puzzled. Is this a train? But this time, my only external source, my sister, was not around to provide me with an answer. So, I had no choice but to say, "I don't know."
I didn't expect my mom to think for a moment and say, "You probably don't know, but they are a very old singer group." Do you know "Jewel in the Palace"? Finally, there's something I know, so I said I know. My mother said, "They sang the theme song for that TV series."
I, oh oh oh oh oh, like this. Then there was no more follow-up. My mom continued to say that recently a young person came to the company and helped her. She said she wanted to give me a few concert tickets. Can you ask your sister and aunt if they want to come?
Another concert, huh? Thinking about the lively atmosphere of the last one, and since I have nothing much to do. After asking my aunt, a few of us came to the same venue again.
But it seems like we took the wrong route this time? I was a bit curious, so I asked directly. My mom said, "No, we didn't take the wrong route, they are in a small field nearby."
Is there anyone in the big field? Almost instinctively, I blurted out without thinking. To my surprise, my mother said yes, someone is there, it's called something. I remember my mom mentioned the person's name back then, but now I can't remember it at all.
After listening to my mother's words, I became even more confused. I thought "Scarlet Heart" was quite popular, so how come no one is listening to it? With this doubt in mind, we entered the venue without buying any glow sticks as usual. This time, the ticket inspector didn't give us anything. However, after finding our seats, I discovered that there was a foam glow stick on every seat.
The location this time is relatively remote. It's not in the center, but in the outer circle. However, I can still see the screen projected by the people in the middle of the stage. When the concert started, the seats in the entire venue were not fully occupied, which was completely different from what I had seen before.
And obviously this combination is supposed to sing rock music, but there are no scenes of them singing sentimental songs with a lively and grand atmosphere. There aren't many people singing along with them. I was very surprised, but I didn't stay surprised for long, as I soon noticed that even before the concert was halfway through, some people had already left early.
Because I didn't understand, I asked my mom what was going on, and she told me that it was because they are Hong Kong people and they are well-known musicians of the older generation. Most people came here to listen to them sing "Dang". Sure enough, before my mom finished speaking, the host on the stage asked, "The next song is one that everyone has been looking forward to, let's all shout it out together."
As the host spoke, the crowd below erupted with cheers and shouts, "Encore!!!" The host smiled mysteriously and nodded, confirming, "Yes, it is 'Loveless Love Letters'!" Clearly, the enthusiasm of the crowd below diminished a little. However, they continued to sing without pause.
My mother spoke up beside me, if they sang the song, a large number of people would leave directly. For some reason, I felt a sudden sadness for them for a few seconds. Because the songs were all ones I hadn't heard before, I didn't know what was going on, and I suddenly felt a bit drowsy. In an environment filled with the noise of rock and roll around me.
I have to say, after a while, I fell asleep. When I slowly opened my eyes, I saw my sister shaking me. It took me a moment to come back to my senses. By this time, the scene was almost over. Only about a third of the people who were originally there remained. For some reason, the lights on the stage went out, and it was so dark that we couldn't see. At this moment, a line of text appeared in the darkness, "Do you think it's over? There's one more song!"
The whole scene shouted angrily, bang!!!
The lights suddenly brightened, dispelling the darkness that was there before, and the two protagonists walked out from it. As the prelude played, I could feel their passion completely. But it was not as lively as the concert I attended before.
The energetic and passionate rock concert ended quickly. After coming out, I looked at the small venue where we stayed and the large venue next to it. I thought for a while and felt sorry for the band Dynamite Train. Because of the times and trends, they have been overlooked by people.
I looked up at the dim moonlight in the sky. It had been a long time since I spoke.
