Chapter 104 Able to Last Two Hours Outside

April 1st: Son-in-law returned home after studying, and the grandkids moved back to their own house. In the evening, my daughter called to say that they had taken the kids to a large supermarket to play after dinner and had returned home and gone to bed by 9 o'clock.
April 2: Lele learned to be "crafty" and avoids difficult choices by being non-committal. For example, that evening while playing, when asked "Do you want to be with Mommy or Grandma?" he came up with "Nana". Grandma happily came over, but he didn't go to her, as it was just a ploy. Today, my husband, daughter and I were in the elevator and Lele was standing between us. He was asked eagerly, "Who do you like more - Mommy or Grandma?" He pointed to Grandpa and said, "He's good." His cleverness at such a young age left us adults marveling at his wit.
He still can't properly say "dad" and "grandpa," and "maternal grandfather" is even harder for him to say, but he uses hand gestures to express himself. Compared to him, Huanhuan is much more articulate. Of course, they each have their own lovable traits.
April 3rd: Lele can now say four syllables in a row.
Today, my husband went back to his hometown and I stayed at my daughter's place. Lele followed Huanhuan and pointed to each room, saying "Mom's room," "Grandma's room," "Nana's room." Even though there were repeated words, it added another syllable and made us very happy. During my phone call with my sister, he pronounced each word clearly and continuously, saying "Auntie Grandma hello," which made Auntie Grandma laugh out loud.
He can already learn to say so much with three words. Mom found that when thanking him once, he even said "You're welcome." In a conversation with his grandfather, he repeated it clearly, which made his grandfather very happy.
Today, my daughter and I took our babies to People's Square and saw many kites flying in the sky. There were "Tom and Jerry", "Mickey Mouse", "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf" as well as butterfly, centipede, dragonfly and other patterns.
Lele is very excited, pointing here and there with his head held high, and his two hands have to protect his newly changed sun hat.
In the market, there are a lot of beautiful clothes for girls, so Huanhuan can easily find suitable clothes. Boys' clothing is already scarce, and Lele is very picky, especially when it comes to hats. If it's not something he likes, he won't wear it even if you force him to. If he says it's "bad", he will take it off immediately even if you manage to force it on. This cowboy hat was picked out by himself last year and he wore it firmly for a whole autumn. He only got used to the knitted hat in winter after a long time, and now he doesn't want to switch again. The weather is warm today, so it's too hot to wear a thick hat. We persuaded him for a while before successfully convincing him to switch his hat for the season. It might be a bit loose, and every time he raises his head, it falls down. He hasn't adjusted it properly yet, so his two hands have to hold onto the edge of the hat.
In order to not make him too tired, we decided to go to the People's Park instead.
The weather was pleasant, so there were many people out and about. The amusement park rides in the park were all busy. There were also vendors selling cotton candy, drinks, and toys, but the kids didn't want any of it. They walked up stairs, climbed small hills, and crossed little bridges. When they got tired, they would come to us with their little hands outstretched, saying "Grandma good" or "Mom good," wanting us to carry them. Whenever we're out, as long as I'm there, Lele always wants me to hold him. When he's happy, he even uses both hands to hold my face. The softness of their little hands and the sincerity in their eyes always make me feel happy, even though it can be tiring. Huanhuan always runs to me first before turning to his mother; he already knows to let his little brother go first.
We played the train game where my daughter and I sat on the front of the train, with one hand protecting her and the other hand shooting a laser gun. We made the elephant's trunk spray water multiple times, caused the rhinoceros's head to sway back and forth, and made the lion swing on a tree trunk. The kids were very happy watching all of this.
After leaving the park, the children were tired and sleepy, and we thought they would fall asleep on the way. But when we arrived at the restaurant, they became lively again. They ate meat rice, drank soup, and persevered until we reached home.
On the recent outings with the little ones, we found that children under two years old are really capable. Whenever we ask if they need to go to the bathroom, they can indicate whether they need to go or not, and they have not had any accidents yet. They can walk longer distances on their own each time we go out. They can go for over two hours without eating, drinking, or needing a restroom break, and they express their needs to adults. Their performance exceeded our expectations. We see many children carrying large bags of water, fruit, and clothing when they go out, while we only need a small bag. It's really effortless and worry-free.
April 5th: Yesterday my husband and I went back to our hometown for the day, and in the evening we took our daughter and her babies to McDonald's. They didn't eat or drink much, but they had a great time playing in the children's playground.
When we arrived, a sister was silently playing alone on the slide. As soon as she saw the audience, she became energetic and performed for us again and again. Huanhuan and Lele laughed loudly every time, as if playing a high-pitched flute, and even stood at the bottom of the slide several times, with both hands outstretched to catch the sister. They also occasionally sat in the small house with the sister. I think the babies are starting to enjoy interacting with other children.
那姐姐回家了，宝贝们便和我在房子里外捉迷藏。妈妈叫他们回家，他们怎么都不肯。正好又过来一个哥哥让他们追了好一阵。可能玩儿得太兴奋了，回家后都很晚了两个孩子也不愿睡觉。
This morning, my daughter and I went out together. We were worried that the pets would become agitated and not let us leave. However, unexpectedly, the breakfast I bought was very appetizing and they happily ate and drank while saying goodbye to us.
It's just a child, as long as they have food and water, they will be satisfied.
